What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California
Hi..
My Cousin has Durable Power of Attorney over my Aunt who was recently placed in an assisted care facility in Los Angeles because of age (91) and early Dementia.
My sister and I along with my Cousin (who has Durable Power of Attorney) are her only blood relatives who are here to take care of her.
My sister and I can’t get any information regarding her finances and her medical treatment because of my Cousin Durable Power of Attorney status.
My Cousin seems to be vague and not forthcoming when we try to ask questions regarding my Aunt’s finances and health care.
Is there a way for us to obtain medical information, follow my Aunt’s medical treatment and also be able to follow all financial dealings?
We don’t intend to interfere with her medical treatment or finances but only to “monitor”
and watch what is happening. I feel a second party should be able to view this activity and make sure her finances and health care are going smoothly.
Please provide any useful information you may have.
Thanks
