I need to know how to serve the notice to move to landlord/tenant? Can it be hand delivered to a juvenile? Or does it have to be given to an adult on the lease? Does it have to be sent certified? And how can I prove it was recieved if hand delivered? Thanks.

I don't know anything at all about MN law.

But using CA law as an example:
No, it cannot be hand delivered to a juvenile.

The first choice would be to hand it to the person to be served.
Second choice is to hand it to a person of suitable age and discretion (18 and serious) at the servee's residence or principal place of business. This is called a substituted service and it may add some days before the service is deemed complete.

Check if MN law allows service by certified mail. First of all, the recipient may not accept it. Additionally, how do you prove the contents?

In CA, you can serve a notice yourself, but that leaves only your testimony that it was served. If you have someone else serve it, there is only that person's testimony that it was served. That's why having the Sheriff serve it is the best way to ensure that the testimony of the server will be believed.
