A private catholic school had set up a committee in honor of a certain man who suddenly passed away. The purpose was to raise money to assist his two daughters attend college in the future. In the first year a lot of money was raised. The goal is to use some of this money for these girls and then use the rest to establish a foundation providing financial aid to this specific school. Is a non-profit corporation the proper vehicle for this? Is a foundation something entirely different or are most foundations set up as non-profits?
