My insurer did not award me enough money to cover both water mitigation and repairs to my home. They negotiated with the water mitigation company to get a lower price, and most likely it is based on my paying them in full when I get my insurance check. I need to repair the floors in my home; can I use some of my check to cover repairs, or must the full amount be used only for mitigation?

What you should have received is enough to cover mitigation plus repairs, minus your deductible. You do need to pay the water mitigation company in full, at the negotiated price. The check for that might even be made out to both you and the mitigation company, with a separate check for the rest.
