California State

I understand that when someone sues a police officer in federal court for a 4th amendment violation or false arrest, the plaintiff may sue the officer under the federal statute 42 U.S.C. 1983. This can be separate from a state civil suit claim, however. If someone wanted to sue an officer in State Civil Court, under what statute would they sue the officer for False arrest, and plantation of illegal contraband and/or malicious prosecution?

What is the California personal injury statute which allows someone to sue another in civil court.

Thank you for any advice. :D
