how to summon/serve without home address ??

i live in minnesota, i want to sue my exboyfriend for money
he has owed me in the past. but he moved during the process of our break up. the court won't let start the paper work until i find out where he is living now. how can i summon or serve papers without a home address? although i do know where he works at, can i get him summon or served there ?
