What is the name of your state? vt...just a question of curiosity. I don't own a credit card, cut them up pay cash now. But, my hubby took one out without my knowledge. I am not angry he did this, it is his credit. How I found out he did this though is interesting. He missed a couple of payments and the card company called looking for him, and asked me if I knew anything about his account? I saw it was a credit card company from caller I.D. My hubby says he will not pay his credit card bill since they violated his rights to privacy. I told him that they only asked me if I had any information about his account, since they asked me if I was his wife. I told him he still has to pay, he claims they violated his privacy rights, Is this true? Faith

Your husband's blatant ignorance is going to cost him a lot of money. He has no right to privacy when he doesn't pay his bills. Let him scream about his right to privacy when his paychecks are garnished or bank acccounts are cleaned out.

Also, the longer he doesn't pay, more & more late fees & interest are going to be added to the amt. due.

And you folks don't live in one of the few states that prohibit discloser to spouses.

However, you should be aware that this is going to affect you quite a bit as well. His credit score is going to push your car insurance up and it will affect the interest rates on your purchases in the future.

Not to mention you are going to have to deal with the collections calls and then the lawsuit and when the liens are placed on your home - it will affect you. You should tell your husband he is a selfish inconsiderate *******.

thank you. I agree, and feel this is very selfish on his part. I am so glad our accounts are seperate right now. I am going to let him read these answers, and tell him to grow up, and pay what he owes. Thanks Faith

Hi faith, just curiosity, your husband doesn't go by the posting name of "skidmarks" does he??
