What is the name of your state? Missouri
I am on the HUD program or as known as housing assitance. I have done some carpentry services in exchange for the services of an attorney who owns rental property and my question is this? HD says that even though we have traded out our services, or bartering, for one another. They say that this is income and can affect my HUD housing assistance. t is my understanding that services and or bartering traded for one another is not considered as income, according to the Internal Revenue ode. No money for these services have ever been exchanged. The only money that has exchanged has been a monthly fee the attny pays to my 15 yr old son for mowing, cleaning, etc. I also am under the impression that HUD can not use a minors money as a source of income. Is this true or can I be directed to legal codes as to the definitions of the things 'm asking? 1( service for service, is this income? and can use this as such? 2) Can my sons money be counted as income? I have to meet with HUD by this afternoon. Is it possible to recieve an answer?
