What is the name of your state? I live in North Carolina
I took out a loan with a PayDay Loan Company (a HUGE mistake)....I could never get out from under them. Anyway, the loan was large (900.00 and the payback was $1125.00)..... and when deducting it on my final payday, they were able to get half of the payment but not the other half. I advised them that I thought I would be able to pay it at the end of the month (04/28) because I was expecting my vacation check (I recently switched jobs).
I signed a voluntary wage assignment. WHen I knew that I could not pay the remaining $500.00 until June 1 and not April 28, they said that they would IMMEDIATELY turn it over to wage garnishment and turn it over to the credit bureau and at 5:00 p.m., I will see that it negatively affects my credit report and will be there for the rest of my life.
My question is what legally can they do between Friday at noon (the deadline) and Tuesday, June 1, when I can repay the money?
Thank you in advance.
