What is the name of your state? Virginia
My husband left me 11 mths ago, we are only seperated. Needed time apart.
We have been seeing each other every week and talk every day up until
a couple days ago.
Now he wants a divorce and I don't.
Question: If he files papers either no fault or fault..Do I have to sign?
I couldn't seem to find any helpful information on this.

You don't HAVE to sign, but you should be aware that if you completely stonewall, the divorce WILL still go through but you may find that he gets everything he asks for by default. If he wants it, he WILL get the divorce. Sorry.

Agree with Stealth. You are going to be divorced if your husband presses for it. It may take a lot of time and money the more you fight but the divorce WILL go through. I hate to say this but don't fight it just to fight it. It will still happen and just end up wasting a lot of money.

So you are saying it will be granted to him eventually?
Are we talking about months a year or a few years?
Don't we have to go through a legal seperation first?

It all depends on what VA requirements might be. I'm not up on them - you should do a search. But it is unlikely to be years if you simply ignore the situation. You'd be better off educating yourself on your rights, and move to protect yourself.

sweetie, I know that you may not want it, but what stealth is saying is correct......if you just do not respond to his summons, the court will grant him everything he is requesting because you legally defaulted......the judge will then sign off on the divorce and most states have something like a 60 day period before is is finalized......you do not have to have a legal seperation.....if he wants it, he will get it.....
