Okay, another question from me. I live in Indiana. My question is - my husband and I wish to hyphenate our child's last name when she is born. However, we don't know which name should be first. (mine-his or his-mine) Is there a "traditional" way that this is done?? Also, is this legal?? Thanks

My response:

Toss a coin.

There's no law that says you must choose a specific surname for your child. You can call the kid anything you like - - except for using actual numbers; e.g., you can't call your kid "U233".
