Skip the tee. Wear a button down top (male)... Blouse (woman). Nice jeans...not rips or stains. Shoes not sneakers. Wash/Comb your hair. A suit is better.
But I am a witness. I'm not going to dress like that. Will I get scalded by the Judge? What would they say? I'm just afraid..

"Scalded"? No. I highly doubt the Judge will dump hot water on you for dressing badly. But if you want your testimony to have the weight it deserves...dress appropriately. Seriously...would it kill you to dress nice for a few hours?

Thank you for your reply. Your right, it's only a few hours of dressing nice and you make a good point.
I will go to Mens Warehouse and buy a suite and keep the receipt and return it after the court time is done. Always keep the receipt.

Keep the suit. You may have need of one again. You could wear a nice pair of slacks and a dress shirt (about $80.00..less if you go to Marshalls)

You should call the court to inquire about the specific courtroom dress code and rules.

Following are links with information on some courtroom dress codes.

Thank you for the county dress code links. I will head to Marshalls but they don't "fit" you like they do at Men's Warehouse. I'm kind of a lazy person and prefer someone else to put the clothes on me for me and that is what they do at MW. They also size me up etc..
If I could actually afford a suite then I would keep it but I will have to return it. I might actually go on a date with it on before returning it. I like dressing up but hate it because it's a hassle. It's hard.

You potentially can rent a suit. Wedding attendants do this. Wedding rentals include more than tuxedos.

You also could check out resale stores.

You know I have thought about renting a suit but I won't get my money back. I prefer the receipt method where you return the suite and get your money back. They get the suite back and I get my money back. Both parties are happy. : )

I wouldn't say both parties are happy with cash back refunds on the return of used clothes. You might be happy, though.

Just make sure of the store's return policy.
