I recently got married in june, my husband and I had visitation with his oldest daughter over the summer. There were certain issues that came up with the child as she told me her mom was abusing her. We took the appropriate steps to get the child some help. In the end the law failed her and she had to be returned to her mother. Since she has went home we have only been able to talk to her 2 times. She tells us things are better and thats it. Now we get paperwork from the north carolina courts stating my husband is in contempt for not returning the child home, and not too mention a long list of purged statements from the mother about us. The one that gets me the most of all is signed by a judge stated that mother has stated that I have posted provocative photos of the minor child on the internet. Now first that hurts me and second I am furious to no end. Can someone please tell me what I can do about this? I appreciate any advice or comments on this situation. Thanks Abigal

Sounds like there is a lawsuit in which you will be able to tell everything you want to.

But if the statements were purged, then how did you get them?

They are all in the list of her wants to the courts. Just a whole list of lies about my husband and myself and I always thought that if someone was to say you did something they better have proof to back up what they are saying? that is why I say she is purging herself saying all these lies.

No you do not.
There were certain issues that came up with the child as she told me her mom was abusing her.
No nintendo is not abuse.
We took the appropriate steps to get the child some help. In the end the law failed her and she had to be returned to her mother.
Translation: The child's accusations were investigated and foudn to be lies.
Since she has went home we have only been able to talk to her 2 times. She tells us things are better and thats it.
And what did you expect ?
Now we get paperwork from the north carolina courts stating my husband is in contempt for not returning the child home, and not too mention a long list of purged statements from the mother about us.
And if he didn't return the child when it was required by his visitation schedule, he IS in contempt.
The one that gets me the most of all is signed by a judge stated that mother has stated that I have posted provocative photos of the minor child on the internet.
Did you?
Now first that hurts me and second I am furious to no end.
So what?
Can someone please tell me what I can do about this? I appreciate any advice or comments on this situation. Thanks Abigal
Yes, stay out of an issue that has nothing to do with you and STOP posting ANY photos of a child you have no legal rights to.

Simple huh?

Your husband had visitation with his child over the summer. I agree it is frustrating to be an interested third party, but please try to avoid supplanting the biological mother's rights and responsibilities concerning the care and development of her child. Doing so will only serve to aggravate the situation for all concerned, especially the child.
