i am so lost

Please tell me what to do! My 16 year old daughter, ranaway with her boyfriend who is 21. He is in jail right now, and she said when he gets out on bail they are going to another state to get married! I needed to know is there anything I can do? Can I have it annuled when they come back to the state of NY and will it even still be legal here? Please help I am losing my mind!

Well, it sounds like Gloria has a friend (Mom?) typing her posts. Nice try Gloria. Does the following look familiar ?

"i am 16 and my boyfriend is 21 i love him and there is no just forgeting him and don't care if you think this is right or not but if i went to a state with him that you don't need parent concent to get married and then came back to the state of pa is our marriage still legal and can my mother have it anoled? please help me i love him so much really and i hate being away from him "

No I'm sorry, you are wrong. Yes I did read that girl's post and was wondering the samething. I thought you would think that. Sorry for the mixup. I can understand why you would not want to answer her. After I read your answer I will delete it. My daughter's name is Kim, not Gloria. I am also wondering about NY's law not PA's.

My response:

Then you'll forgive my error. However, you really must admit that the two posts are uncannily similar.

And, again, I'll beg your forgiveness for not responding to you because of the similarity. To do so would benefit young Gloria, and I've already informed her that I cannot, in good conscience, assist her. Besides, it would be unethical for me to do so, because to assist her would be to aid her in an illegal activity - - considering her age.
