i bought a car from a used car dealer on 1-16-03. i paid him 626.99 approx two weeks later for tagstitle and license.two months went by and i never got a registration sticker. i went by office and signed everything and they told me they would mail my tag to me. they never did. so i stopped making payments and they repossed the car which was fine i checked the motor vehicle records andt the car was never registered in my name. can i get my registration money back?

First the agreement you had with the dealership is a separate agreement from the one you had with the lending institution. You stopping making payments and that has nothing to do with the registration money.

On the registration, did you contact the dealership? What did they say? What is in your contract about the registration?

car registration

the dealership and the lending institution are the same. i contacted them about the matter several times. but in two months time the car was never registered to me. i checked with the texas department of motor vehicles. and since i did not have a valid registration sticker on the car i was constantly pulled over by police.

This doesn't answer the questions or change that the loan and the sale are two separate issues. Not getting registration does not justify stopping the payments. You said you contacted them but you still did not say what the response was from the dealership. I have to assume there is much more to this story and they gave you reasons why. What are they?

reasons

they said there was an issue with the title i signed it again and they told me that they would get it and mail registration that monday this was a friday. they gave me another dealers tag which is only good for two weeks. i never got the registration forms. there was never a record of me being owner of the car. whenever i was stopped i was asked why i did not have proper registration. being that i had bought the car in january and it was march and then april. i mean i could only recieve so many warning tickets before i was pulled over by the same officer and recieve a real ticket. the dot never had any record of the cars registration being transferred to me.i mean it should not take three months to document the sale. which was never done. and for me to go and get it registered i would have to pay another 622.99

When it wasn't sent out on that Monday and you contacted them what did they say? Even if you had to pay 600.00 for it, it was less than the amount you didn't pay for the car since you quit making the payments. You are making excuses and trying to justify something that was wrong. If you would have handled this correctly in the beginning you would have had a better chance and getting something done. I don't think you followed up with the dealer or you still owed them money. Why would you let a car you only had for a couple of months be repo'd and ruin your credit over 600.00. It's unheard of and ridiculous that you think we are buying that story. What did the dealership say when you followed up?

when i asked they said the previous owners of the car had signed the title on the wrong line. they said theat they had to get an something or another signed. well i checked back and they told me that they had tried to get it signed but whoever else the had to get to sign it was busy all the time. i had other issues with the car as well in two months time i had spent about 1200 dollars on repairs. i had words with the dealer about that and that was one of the excuses he said he didn't know if i was going to keep the car or not.my only problem is i gave him 622.99 for registration fees he never paid it. the contract i signed when i bought the car said that is what the money was for. i am not making excuses for not making the payments. that was my choice.

you should of kept making the payments.an after awhile, you
could of taking it to court.an that's with proof you did pay the
registration fee's.instead you ruined your credit.
i bet anything you would of gotten your registration money back.
an maybe,if they couldnt make that car legal.he would of taking
the car back.an take off what you paid on that car for another
purchase at his dealership lot.but, the dealer should of never
bought the car from the old owners.without them signing off
1st.he would of gotten in a mess.not you!but, since you failed to
make payments your s.o.l
