I live in Indiana. I bought an item from a company through a well known online seller. The item I purchased was listed as $59.95. I received 2 emails. One listing the wrong item and the other confirming I purchased the item I wanted and that my credit card had been charged. I called the company a couple of days ago to bring the problem to light and they said that I could send the item back and get what I had originally ordered. I called again today and their story changed....I can get my item if I pay $300 because they claim that Amazon had messed something up. I have documents proving that I bought the item and what I was supposed to get. In this, am I able to take legal action against the company if they do not give me the item for the listed price?

Legally all you are entitled to is your money back. If a mistake was made they have the right to cancel the sale. I would contact Amazon though. They may have a policy where the vender has to sell the item and Amazon would be responsible if it was their mistake.

Returns

I would definitely contact Amazon about the difference. The return policy for Amazon Marketplace is located at Amazon.com: Help > Returns > Amazon Marketplace

Amazon has an A to Z policy about returns that might help you keep the item for the price it was listed at if the merchant actually changed it on you. If you do return the item, make sure you have some kind of tracking on it so the seller can't say they never got it back. Also, you can also post feedback about the seller and how they handled your transaction.
