Being aware of the "At-Will" law for employers, I realize I cannot sue my former employer. There are too many laws protecting the employers and no laws protecting the employee. "At-will", Yeah, I can quite without giving notice, but they will retaliate in giving me a bad review if ever need be, of which I have no rights.

Here's my situation.
I was terminated so that I would have more time to look for a new job! I asked if my work performance was of issue and they said no, My work performance was excellant along with my attendance. And get this!
This company is starting a new business in 3 months and I will be the first one they call for this position! And NO, I was not laid off I was FIRED! Trying to save my income, I asked if they were just going to hire me back in a few months then why not let me continue working there? They just replied it would not work out and that I needed time to look for a new job.

Where's my rights to income until I find this new job? My work performance had not been affected by my looking for a new job so why fire me over it?

And then we wonder why there are so many shootings at places of employment.
Someone really needs to throw that "At-Will" crap in the trash where it belongs.
I work too hard to be fired "At-Will" for no good reason other than to find new work.

Any Ideas?

Next time take a job where there is a union and you don't have to worry about arbitrary firings, although places with unions have other problems. And there is unemployment insurance and a good labor market out there.
