I live in florida and my mother is married to a drug addict for the second time. My father was a drug addict and died of aids bcause of his addiction. This man my mother calls her husband has mess with drugs so many times we moved from New York to Florida. In New York we had to move in with my older sister and Florida we had to move in with my aunt for a little while. In Florida this man got so involed with drugs that he brought drug dealers in our house, luckly we were not there. My mother got him arrested and they checked him for drugs, he came back negative. My mother took him again and he came back positive. My mother forgave him and now he is still living with us. I am 17 until Sept. 2001 and my sister will be 14 until July 2001. We do not feel safe in this house, my aunt offered to take us in but we never really got to doing anything. I am going to a Community college soon and I afraid to leave my youngest sister alone in that house with him in it. I was thinking that my aunt could take custody of my sister. Or when I am eighteen I could take custody of her. We do not feel safe.

if you are so worried for your safety - you wouldn't worry rather or not your aunt would let you do anything. you would worry about getting out of the home, away from the drugs, etc.

you are in a situation that you will be on your own soon, if that is what you want. your sister isn't that lucky. if the home is as bad as you have described, you need to talk to your mom and let her know that you want out. ask if you can move in with your aunt - go back to your older sister in NY, somthing.

Maybe call child protective services and ask them to help your get yourself and your sister out of there. If your mother won't help, cps has an obligation to investigate every phone call. they won't turn their backs on you.
