What is the name of your state? Hawaii

I have a quick question that i am hoping someone can help me with. My Step Father passed away 5 years ago leaving my mom primary trustee and his 3 sisters secondary trustee's. Well yesterday my mom received a letter with the 3 sisters signatures that stated they were firing her as trustee effective Feb. 20th. Is this a legal procedure that they have done? Please any insight on this is much appreciated.

What does the attorney for the trust tell you?

(That's NOT a rhetorical question)
AND what does the written trust agreement say?

It probably doesn't mean very much. A primary trustee is superior in rank and legal authority to secondary trustee--only responsibility a secondary trustee has is to replace the primary trustee if in fact the primary trustee can't serve any longer.

Has your mother been handling her duties responsibly and professionally?

Your mother needs to be consulting with a trust attorney to make sure she is still in place as primary trustee and to make sure she has read and understands all of the instructions of the trust document.
