What is the name of your state? ME
I recently traded my car in to a small local dealership. They gave me a good trade in value on it, and i then financed the additional 3500 dollars for a 96 chevy blazer. The dealer warranteed the vehicle for 60 days all inclusive on the engine (which had been re-built just before the sale), and the transmission.
2 days after purchase, i drove the vehicle for 10 miles or so when fuel started gushing out of the engine. I almost caught an entire gas station on fire, but luckily, i was able to wash the fuel off the exhaust before it could catch fire. Dealer repaired "loose"fuel line after 5 days, and said it was all set.
When i picked the vehicle up it was running poorly, and it was determined i would wait 1 more day until he could have it fixed.
It has now been over a week, and looks to be at least 7 to 10 more days until repair because he has to take the motor apart again.
By the time i get the vehicle back, my 14 day plates will have expired, and a good portion of my warranty period will be gone also.
This jerk was even hauling his rotten trash in the truck, and driving it for personal use, even though it wasn't running right.
I have informed him(within 5 days) that i would like to just trade back, but he is unwilling, and im afraid these repairs won't be done correctly.
After truly seeing his poor service, and bad judgement, i want no part of this vehicle. Do i have any options?
ALso, this dealer tried to convince me to sign papers that we were doing an even trade, so he would save money on something or other.. I need some real help here..Thanks.
