I moved !exhusband still a pain!

I've been divorced since 1997,remarried to a great guy
with 2 children. Problem I live in California, I moved
to San Jose California to start over......here's the
problem...My exhusband is still trying to find me by
sending certified letters with a child support check
inside. I refuse them everytime,gone to the police,
he has no rights to the child when he terminated his rights
in 1999, but he keeps on sending child support checks
and I refuse them everytime it comes to my p.o. box.
Is their anything else to do? and how well does a restraining order work? I mean since its just the checks
is that considered stalking and will the restraining
order stick?

My response:

There's no law against "stalking" or "harassing" a P.O. Box, and it can't be considered such against you because he's not doing anything to you "personally".

I recall your prior posts, and you're doing the right thing by sending them back; or, if you want, hang onto them for potential future evidence. Either way, as long as he can't find out where you live, he's not breaking any laws.

Obviously, he's in need of some form of psychiatric care. In that instance, do you really believe that a Restraining Order would work. Unlikely. Crazy people don't pay attention to laws. They only pay attention to the little voices in their head.

It's little inconvenience to write "Refused" on an envelope.
