I need advice plz.....

I live in MI and I am very worried about my teenage niece and her new baby. My sister took my niece from me when her mother passed away in 2006 and went down and got temporary guardianship of her while I was out of state taking care of our dead sisters personal business. My niece is now 17 and will turn 18 in less then 2 months and had a baby almost 2 months ago. My sister doesn't like the fact that my niece had a bi-racial baby so while my niece was in the O R having a c-section, my sister got more n more upset about the situation n told me she was going down 2 court asap n getting guardianship of the baby so the father n his family can't have her ! I and my niece are both very upset about this but my sister is trying to say that she gets guardianship of the baby automatically because she has guardianship of my niece...... IS THIS TRUE ? DOES SHE AUTOMATICALLY GET GUARDIANSHIP OF THE BABY SINCE SHE HAS TEMPORARY GUARDIANSHIP OF THE TEENAGE MOTHER ? EVEN IF THE FATHER IS OF LEGAL AGE AND RESPONSIBLE ?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Your sister is blowing smoke. She's not going to automatically get guardianship of the baby. Furthermore, the fact that the teen turns 18 in 2 months makes it a moot point - it will probably take longer than that for your sister to even get a hearing.

You have no legal standing to be involved in any way. If you want to help, you can pay for an attorney for your niece. And then offer her a place to stay after she turns 18. Other than that, there's not much you can do.
