Hi recently moved to Alaska and I came from California I owe a furniture rent a center like five thousand dollars it started out as a couple grand but I couldn't afford the 300 dollar payments so the payments went down to 150 and the interest went up to 5000 dollars I left before the lawyer could have me served I didn't think I would have to go to court anyways they can't find me but would they throw out the court case after while or would they pursue it and find where I'm at.

Rent a Center will usually use a skip tracer find you before they attempt to serve you since they have time. They WILL find you and it's rather easy to do so. Your credit report will tell them everything they need to know.

You have no idea how easy it is to find you, do you?

That's almost funny.

They'll find you, they'll have you served in some way or another, and your credit will be even more shot than it already (probably) is.

Pay your bills, young man.

In GA, you can be criminally charged with running off with Rent a Center's (and places like it) stuff. The fact that Rent A Center allows you to terminate the contract at any time by returning the merchandise just screams of conversion (which is what you did, and is criminal)

I didn't see where op took the property with them (nor actually that they didn't) but op needs to understand that taking property you do not own is a crime in any state of the US. If op did take the furniture with him he should really think about his position (and maybe what position he will be in if he ends up in prison ;)) and take steps to rectify the situstion.
