I hope i did this in the right place.i live in Florida & i am in a situation where i was arrested and now awaiting a court date for taking money that was hanging out of a bank night drop box and running it directly to the police station which took 2 whole minutes to do. the officer counted it and recorded it in front of me. my finance and my 13 year old son and my 8 year old son were with me when this happened and nobody took a single penny from this money. now i am going to court because i feel i am getting this pinned on me. i did not keep any money and i returned every dollar that way there. now that i am on the jail log and i have NEVER done anything wrong in my life(legally speaking), i am not untrusted by my family,friends and even by some people at work. i feel my name have been used dishonestly in an attempt to "get someone" for this. i am 34 years old and never been in trouble, no record,never done drugs ,and never broke the law. i was only at the bank to make my deposit for my mothers acct. the officer that was dealing with this says "i will go to the bank and take a look tonight". He went the NEXT evening. now i am stressed over this situation,untrusted, and customers look at me like a leper. i drive truck short haul and i live in a small town ,so people know people. i mean..if i were ever to be dishonest,you think i would do it in front of my own kids? c'mon.
i need advise. i am thinking of countersueing for defamation of character,loss of wages and mental stress. loss of wages because once i am a "felon" most truck companies wont accept me as an employee. i firmly believe the company the money belonged to just needs someone to pin it on so insurance can be claimed or something.
