What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?I am from arkansas. 5 months ago I bought 2 cars from a new car dealer. One used one and one new one. When buying the used car we were told it had warranty left but they stated they werent sure how much was left. They told us to call the saturn dealer when we got home to transfer the warranty. When we got home and called we found out the warranty had run out on the drive home. Also the dealer said they were going to put a new radio in the car if we bought it...they never did. Now, just under 5 months later the transmission has gone out on this car...with 5 yrs left to pay on it. Did I get the shaft? Also they never offered us an extended warranty for it. The new truck I bought from them on the same day goes to the left when you brake. It has been in the shop 5 time with them trying 5 different things to fix it. It is still not fixed. Would that fall under the lemon law? The dealer says the truck meets their specks.

thanks for any help

Okay. And, of course, you got this in writing, didn't you??? So, what did the dealer say when you asked them for the agreed radio??

Now, just under 5 months later the transmission has gone out on this car...with 5 yrs left to pay on it. Did I get the shaft?
Nope. First, there is no way for the dealer to have known that the transmission would fail five MONTHS after your purchase. Second, you had the opportunity (and OBLIGATION) to have the vehicle inspected prior to your purchase, what did your mechanic say as to its condition???

Also they never offered us an extended warranty for it.
So what?? They are under no obligation to do so.

The new truck I bought from them on the same day goes to the left when you brake. It has been in the shop 5 time with them trying 5 different things to fix it. It is still not fixed. Would that fall under the lemon law? The dealer says the truck meets their specks.
Your state lemon law covers "unsuccessful attempts to repair nonconformities that substantially impair the use, value or safety of your vehicle (four or more repair attempts, or more than 30 days out of service)." Unless your vehicle "goes to the left when you brake" to such an extent as to substantially impair the use, value or safety", it would not be covered.

Of course, that isn't what your first post said. You said, "When we got home and called we found out the warranty had run out on the drive home."
From that, it appears that the vehicle had a warranty.... but there was so little left on the mileage that it expired WHILE you drove it.

In any case, the obligation was on you to determine the extent of the warranty available, if any, BEFORE you purchased and to factor that intangible into your purchase agreement.
