Here is my situation. About a month ago me and my girlfriend at the time broke up. We would still talk and hang out, but every now and then we would get into a huge argument and have a falling out again, then the situation would repeat itself.
To say the least we've had a bumpy relationship. We both lived in the same apt. complex for 3 years and have been together for 2 1/2 of those years, I recently moved out over Christmas (we're both students). So we've argued and all that and the neighbors have heard us arguing before and what not (never escalated to violence or anything of that nature, but yelling and screaming), so it's not something that was new.
Well about 3 weeks ago she and I got into a big argument. She called security on me and then management (I had already left) and they in turn (they don't like me there by the way) told her to file a police report. Well the cop that wrote up the report was a resident at the complex and wrote it up for her. Well the next day management tells the police officer that I am to be banned from the entire complex for good.
Apparently my ex-gf told the cop that she feared me and feared for her life, so then the owner of the complex said that they didn't need any bad publicity for the condo's (it's an upscale place) in the paper like someone getting shot or killed.
Needless to say most of my friend live at these condo's. So I was visiting one of them one day (a few days after the argument, before I knew of any of this) when one of the people that worked there informed me that I was banned from the entire complex, but he didn't know if it had gone into affect yet. Not just my ex's apartment, but I could not go anywhere on the grounds of the condo's or I would be arrested. I was just in shock, like what is going on.
So I find out about this and I am like, is this a joke? Well the following week I went there and was visiting another friend and we were at the pool hanging out and everything was fine. Workers came up to me and even spoke with me and didn't mention anything about being banned, they just acted normal.
So I ended up talking to my ex-gf the next day of me being at the pool and we hung out for a little while. The next night she sleeps over at my place as well as the next night and we hangout over the weekend. The next week same thing, she sleeps over a few times and everything is like whatever.
In the mean while last week I spoke to the officer that wrote the report and he told me that I was banned for good and I would be arrested and that now that he spoke to me the ban was in affect. I told him that it was just crazy, that she did that out of anger and not thinking about the full scope of it or future consequences.
Well I told my ex to talk to the property management and have them lift it and she said NO. It's my way of controlling when you can and can not come to my apartment. I told her that, that is BS, she's controlling who I can and can not see because she knows very well that I know over 40 people that live there. I told her I had no problem with being banned from anywhere near her apartment, but that it was a bunch of crap that I was banned from being able to hang out with all of my other friends as well.
Well needles to say she slept over again this week and everything was fine, but then she went on this mental power trip saying that she got me banned from the apartment complex for a reason and what not. So I am just infuriated.
It's the summer time now and my friends have been calling me left and right to come hang out, come to the pool, come barbecue etc... yet I can't go anywhere on the property because it will be trespassing. It is embarrassing, but I always make up excuses like I have better things to do instead of having to tell them I am banned because my ex decided she not only didn't want me at her apartment, but wanted to control me being able to see my other friends as well.
So I want to know, what can be done about this if anything? Would it be trespassing if I am a guest of the residents that live there? I mean I am looking for some light here. As I did live there for 4 years and just recently moved and many of my friends are residents there.
