I recieved a judegemnt today. I am ordered to pay my ex husband $5000.00 begining in April @ 200.00 a month. Im not sure that I will be able to make all those payment on time. The judgement states that if Im late more than 10 days. i am then immediatley responsiblefor the entire babalce. My question is :If he attaches a lien on my home, will it accure intrest??? California

Virtually all states allow for recovery of interest on a judgment. The specific rate should be shown IN the judgment itself. For example, California statutory interest for judgments is 10% unless the debt is a contract and a different interest rate is stipulated in it.

And since this interest applies to the judgment itself, it accrues for as long as the judgment remains unpaid.
