on 12/1/99 I made a payment to my apt. complex and now they had send me 3 day notice I call them and toll them tha I did pay my rent so I went to the office and gave them A copie of my check and then I call the bank and I ask for a copie of the cancell check and when the copie arrive I saw it was cash by the apt.complex I gave them the only copie
I had.
2-3 month pass by and when I went to pay my rent for the month of may 2000. they said that they won`t accept my payment and I can`t renew a new lease because they said that they did not recive the payment for the month of 12/1/99 now she said that I`m in a big trouble that I owe thousands of dollars I just got a letter from a lady last night its a letter from the attorney and its say that I`m being sued by the apt. complex
and it says
you have 5 days after this summons is served on you to file a typewritten response at this court.
a letter or phone call will not protect you.your typewritten response must be in proper legal form if you want the court to hear your case.
if you do not file your response on time, you may lose the case, you may be evicted, and your wage, money and property may be taken without further warning from court.
I`m running out of time can`t find an attoney in sacramento and have 3 day to do this.
if this happens can I sue them back?
note....
they got pay and they cash the check
I gave them a copie from the bank and they lost it I toll them I`ll give them another copie from the bank but they had to pay what the bank charge for the copie and they said no!
any help on this?
thank you.... in advance
