To make a long story short...

I sell comic books on ebay. I had a buyer bid on about 20 of my books and ended up not paying. I have lost over $30 in listing fees and potentially a couple of hundred bucks because of lost sales. Is it advisable to file a civil suit? Thanks.

part of the ebay business

I don't know how long you have been selling comic books on ebay, but non-paying buyers are a part of the business. About the only thing you can do is give them negative feedback, relist the onsold item, and hope it sells for enough to cover your previous listing fee. As far as I know, once the auction is complete, it's up to the buyer and seller to make sure the transaction is completed effectively. Ebay is more of a dating service than a divorce court. And then you have to ask yourself if $30.00 is worth the effort. If you're doing it for principle, don't bother, the un-paying buyer will probably continue their practice of not paying other sellers until Ebay gives them the boot for too many negative feedbacks and/or complaints.
