i think im being harased by someone in school

What is the name of your state? Virginia theres these kids at school that i use to be really good friends with but i ended breaking up with someone and they all turned on me and wont stop calling me names or prank calling my house or sending me really mean emails. is this harassment?

My response:

No. It's call growing up. Every one of us has a "story" from our past, and as we were growing up we were all involved in things similar to your situation - - from nasty names, to prank calls, to fights, to - - well, you name it.

Sometimes, even in law, there isn't a remedy. While it hurts, and no one likes to be treated differently, kids can be very hurtful and it's something that happens as we grow.

There's always that kid with thick glasses, or the limp, and the speech impediment, or a "tick", or something else that sets them apart from the "popular kids" - - and they get teased mercilessly. It really hurts.

Soon, it will all stop, and will just be an unpleasant memory.

P.S. Just to let you know, I was one of the "bullies" in school, and loved to tease the hell out of the other kids ! Now, I do the same thing in Litigation and in a courtroom, and I still go after all the attorneys with thick glasses ! I just don't physically beat them up anymore - - I use words and logic to beat the crap out of them !

I disagree. It IS harrassment. The problem you have is, if you do anything, it will undoubtedly worsen. I would recommend that you speak with the counselor at your school, assuming they will keep it confidential. Join a summer activity where you can meet other people and hang around a different group. If you feel you need to re-join the group of friends that is harrassing you (though I don't know why you would) pick one that you consider a good friend and talk with him/her privately about it.

It is part of growing up. It will get better. I know it seems horrible right now and that high school or college is a long way away, but the harrassment will stop when the ones harrassing you mature. Bullies are jerks. They attain their popularity by being jerks and by making others feel inferior. Kids will follow them so they can feel the power of making others feel bad, and also, so they are not the target of the harrassment. The best recourse would be to concentrate on being the best person you can be. rise above their immature tauntings, and set a goal to someday be in a position where they will be working for you. Then fire their butts!!
