I live in Florida and worked in a doctors office and found out one of my fellow co workers was abusing their power. They were calling in scripts and writting them out. When the person found out that I knew she confronted me, I said I wouldn't tell they told me, this was their first and only time but it continued. Then when I answered the wronge call one day, I knew it was still going on plus they had a family member involed. I decided to quit the job but after talking to some friends they felt I should turn her in and so called a cop friend who said I could be a unknown and could get paid by a local group for my info and I agreed and gave them all the info I knew but the cop called me and asked me to talk to a detective and I agree to call him but wouldn't give my name. Gave that person more info and all of this led to two arrest and many charges agaisnt the two I named. plus others I believe, not only that I was paid a reward through a code so no one knew it was me.. Now my question is I made the mistake of telling the cop friend that the co worker told me everything about what exactley what they had been doing.. Now reading the court records on line the people arrested are looking to get some of the charges dropped. If the police calls on me to testify what will I be obligated to say? And should I retain a lawyer I do not want to testify!! I am scared of these people that is why I did this the way I did. The police never used my name and no one talked with If they do can just say I really have no memory of the time I worked there? So I am concerned if I may actually did a atty? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
