I signed a one year lease. 3months left. I want to move but the landlord says I must pay rent if they do not rent it until my lease expires. I read the lease and can find nothing that states payment of rent until re-rented. Only that 30days notice is required. In North Carolina is this the way it is? Am I stuck with paying rent to the end?

A 1 year lease usually means you are obligated for 1 year. Period. Thereafter it is cancelable on 30 days notice. But a lawyer would have to read it to see if there is a way out -- which I doubt -- because it is poorly written.
