I was fired due to medical emergency, is this legal?

i live in colorado and i had to have an emergency appendectomy (removal of my appendix) and i missed two days of work. the company i work for would not let me return because i missed two days of training. they said i could come back when a new training class started in three weeks but this was not guaranteed. is this legal?
