Reasonly, New York Reps. has proposed a new life insurance policy to my wife and I. I agree to review the policy as proposed. They asked me to deposit amount of 500.00 dollars while I have a month to review as a prenium payment for the 1st month due. I then must accept or reject within a month , if I reject during this period they will cancel my policy and return my deposit money promptly. I reviewed and decided not to accepted. I wrote a letter of cancellation and asked to cancel my policy and asked them to return my deposit within 2 weeks. They replied and acknowleged fo my cancellation. However, I haven't got my deposit return yet for the last few weeks.
1. How do I write to them and force them to pay quickly ?

2. Do I have any legal ground to force them pay me, without going to small claim court ?

3. What strong legal language I can use to scare them and pay serious action to my demands ?

I know your help is very convincing

Thanks

My response:

Did they reply in writing?

Usually, it takes anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks for corporations to "cut" checks. Call them about the progress of your refund. If after 6 weeks you still don't have your money, get all of your documents together concerning the refund promise and file your action in Small Claims Court.

Always, always, always, make notes of the name, date, time, place, phone number, and a discussion summary of who you spoke to and why. Those notes are also evidentiary in nature for court, should it come to that.

Good luck.
