Hello,

My husband went to get his CDL permit and found out that his license was suspended in new jersey for a parking ticket in 1999. he lived in nc from 1993-2002. we moved to wisconsin in 2002 and live here presently. His brother used his old tags on his brown honda and recieved a parking ticket. We now found out that my husband has to pay 62.00 for this ticket and 50.00 for the warrent out for his arrest and 100.00 to reinstate his driving privileges in NJ. Wisconsin is one of the states that is not involved in sharing records for driving, therefore we never knew he was suspended. His brother thinks this is all a joke and if my husband is pulled over before this matter is paid for, he will be arrested and sent to NJ. It comes at a bad time for us because he needs his CDL for work when he goes to Indiana. I would very much like my brother in law to suffer for this. Does anyone have any advice on what to do? We decided to pay for the tickets because it's the ONLY timely way to make sure that my husband can get his CDL to go to Indiana.

Yes, paying the ticket (as y'all suggested) is the only way out.

"Sharing" tags is a criminal offense.

It wasn't that the tags were shared. My brother in law took the tags from my father in laws shed and said he would turn them in for him. There were several plates because my father in law and husband moved to North Carolina and no longer needed them. So it leaves me to wonder who else he has done this to. His brother is in a lot of trouble. We just recently found out he is being sued by a 12 Year old girl on the softball team that he couched for hitting a ball too hard and busting all the bones in her face. Her parents are suing him and the softball league and the state. He also is 3000 dollars in arrears for child support. He has lived in NJ for 2 years now and still has his Pennsylvania CDL license. He wont have that for long!! Not only has he "stolen identity" he is a deadbeat dad and a Truck driver driving on a license that is no good. Glad he has no one that looks up to him as a Role Model.
