What is the name of your state?Ky

I received a statement from ER Solutions, inc. for $4,037.30 that has Creditor: Dell Finacial Services (2mpp/ff)

I have never had an account with Dell or ever purchased a Dell product. I assume this is an error or identity theft.
Should I just send them a standard Validation letter?
Should I state that it isn't my debt?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I recommend that you send a DV letter CRRRM. Also get copies of your CR from all 3 CBs to make sure you don't have any other fraudalent extensions of credit. If you are CERTAIN that this is not your debt then go ahead and file a police report immediately. I recommend you wait for the validation, but either way, a report should be filed. Below is a link with more information as well as sample letters. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. The credit report showed it as a 2001 debt, although this is the first billing I've ever received. It wasn't a debt I made. The credit report also listed 2 addresses in Columbus Ohio for me and I never lived there.

In that case, file a police report immediately. Let the CA know what this is ID theft and that you have filed a report. Look into getting ID Theft prevention on your CR. Also, if you haven't already done it, get your CR from ALL 3 CBs to insure that there are no more fraudalent items on your report.

There is a lot of info on ID Theft on the internet. I am having problems with my links right now, so use a search engine. Get the ball in motion sooner rather than later. There may be more advice from others so check back.

Good luck.
