What is the name of your state? NC

Here's the situation, we have perfect credit, except for the Ch7 discharged last December. We apply to rent a home and our credit reports are up to date and accurate with no negatives except chapter 7. We were denied solely based on our Ch7. Is this normal/ to be reasonably expected?
Anyway, I want to know if this happens usually when you try to rent from a realtor instead of an individual and is there anything I can do except gripe?

Just go find someone else who isn't doing a credit check -- or who doesn't have such a policy.

Yes, they can deny you the lease based on the C-7 filing.

But lots of folks have done the same thing -- and they all have roofs over their heads.
