What is the name of your state? CA

I might be having a legal dispute with a coporation. The other party said to talk to their laywer. The laywer send me a letter say to direct all corroespondent to him. I have tried to called him regarding the case, no answer.

My question. Since the other party is represent by a laywer. Can I just serve the laywer since he is representing the other party. It is easier for me to serve the laywer than the other party. The other party is out of town. The laywer is in town.

And if I just serve the laywer (give him papers) who names should be on the papers? Do I still put the other party name on the papers and just give it to the laywer.

thanks

My response:

If you're having a legal dispute with a corporation, then you have to name the corporation as a defendant. You cannot serve the corporation attorney. You can only serve the "agent for service of process."

You can find the name and address of that person by ordering the information from the Secretary of State Office of the State of California.

The attorney probably won't talk to you because there is no lawsuit currently pending.
