What is the name of your state? Virginia

I might be able to talk a family member into paying my debt, would it affect my benefits if the money never touches my bank account?

You were on the forum asking about a consolidation loan in 2019 and about bankruptcy in 2018. Did you ever investigate these?

You might want to sit down with a financial counselor.
I DID consolidate dude. Now I might have a way out, I just want to make sure I don't shoot myself in the foot doing so.

Income would be any money you received that you could use for food or shelter or payment of any food or shelter items. So as long as this debt was not for food or shelter items, and it never goes into your hand (or bank account), it is not income for SSI.

And doesn't matter at all for SSDI.

Nice for you, though.
