If they deduct what is owed from my return will they give me what is left?

I am currectly filing form 8857 request of spouse relief, since the taxes owed from my joitlky file return in 2006 are responsability of my ex husband (I sis not know if the existance of a 1099 income under is name) well... I wanty to file my income taxes since I have a baby and I need the money. if by any chance IRS decides to take the money owed from my return, will they send me what is left?

Yes, if they take the money owed from your refund, they will send you any remaining balance.

They will still process your innocent spouse relief form and if they agree that you are due innocent spouse relief, then you will get the money they took, back.
