What is the name of your state? Illinois

Curious, How long after your case has already been discharged can you apply for a car loan? My cousin has already had here bankruptcy discharged since January of this year, but she is in need of a vehicle since she had to surrender her vehicle under bankruptcy due to an car accident on which she could not pay for the damages to her vehicle. I already told her the interest rate would be ugly but going to work 45 miles one way and 45back is getting tough with public transportation. Also...

1.) Would there be any questions raised from the court or other creditors if she were to try and apply for a car loan?

2.) If it is not a good idea to apply for a loan, then what would the ideal time frame be to actually apply for a loan after discharge of bankruptcy?

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

She can apply for a loan 1 day post bk id she likes. The interest rate will be pretty high just a few months post bk.

Thanks for the reply bigun. So all in all, if she wants to go ahead and apply for a loan, there is nothing that could affect her already closed bankruptcy case? No way of a discharged creditor or the courts re-visting her case?

They're done with her. The only way it could be reopened is a fraud allegation and financing a car is not illegal.
