I rented a 2-bedroom apartment through a reality office. I have been living in the apartment for about 9mnths. I have now been told by my landlord that my apartment is illegal and the town knows about it. So now I was left with 2 choices...i can move all of my stuff out of the apartment while they rip the kitchen out and move back in when they are done.(they are trying to make it seem to the town officials that there is no apt in the basement) or i can move out. My question is Are reality offices aloud to rent out illegal apartments and what can I do to them if they are in the wrong? I Paid them one months rent as a finder fee and i now have to move within 2 weeks. What can I do??? Please help me as soon as you can. THANK YOU!!
