My question is about some rental property in Florida. I own a house which I rent out. A previous tenant let someone move in with them (unknown to me). When he moved out, his friend did not. I told him to move out but he refuses. Now he is living there free, without permission and without a lease. How can I make him leave? Do I have to go through eviction procedures?

WOW! YOU OWN A HOME and think you can evict someone for FREE!

Sorry you have to go to court and start eviction proceedings, or pay a lawyer...

Remember being a cheapskate has put you into this mess.

I'm not sure how the other guy got that you were being a cheapskate...but he has posted many obnoxious and irrelevant replies...I wouldn't pay that person any attention...

As for your "guest" I am under the impression that you never accepted any rental payments from him. If you did, you may have to see an attorney BUT if you have not, he is technically tresspassing--call the sheriff and see if you can do anything. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some glitch that would require you to evict the guy, but the law tries to protect everyone--inevitably, some get the short end of the stick.

Even if you do need to evict...it doesn't need to be expensive.
