What is the name of your state (Illinois & Wisconsin)?

My husband has a child support case originating in Illinois. When he moved to Wisconsin, Illinois requested Wisconsin be involved. His arrearages were still owed to Illinois, however the current support was paid to Wisconsin. Mother has never asked for a modification.

The child is now 17. We have asked BOTH states, who do we ask to terminate the order when the child reaches 18? Wisconsin or Illinois? We cannot get an answer from either state.

Illinois child support ends at 18. Wisconsin child support ends at 18 unless the child is in school or working towards a GED until age 19. Does Illinios retain jurisdiction since the original divorce/child support was issued there?

Thank you.

Edited to add: To add to confusion, CP mom lives in Wisconsin now, and NCP dad is in Florida. Florida is not involved. NCP is current and has $0 arrearages.

Illinois still has jurisdiction at this point. Nothing you've written indicates that Mom has domesticated the order to any other state.

Since the order was issued in Illinois, if the CO for support is silent on the issue of when support stops then Illinois statute would apply.
