What is the name of your state? Arkansas

Since I only have a 1-888 # I have no idea where this collection company is, I was used as a contact # for someone else's credit dealings, well this collection co, has called daily, 7 days aweek, I have called to tell them to stop calling, they scream, laugh, smart off, and then hang-up, oh yeah, don't believe me, I'll give you the # I ask for a superviser and they refuse. This is war now, how do I find their address? They refuse to tell me, yes they even do that....what are my rights to sue them? Do I have to sue them in their state? ThanksWhat is the name of your state?

You can contact your local phone company for assistance. You can do a reverse look up.

don't know?

you know, I have no idea, who they are, when I called them back the first time, they started yelling at me, that I had to give them info on this person, well that was the wrong thing to say to me, I ended the session with, don't call me. Next call, I call back, and repeated my request and ask for a supervisor, they refused, then I ask for a address, they refused, now I guess my # comes up on caller Id and they just toy with me and hang up. We are not on good terms, don't get me wrong. I'm no angel.
I have had other collectors call for someone else, if or when I gave what I knew, they never called me back.
I gave no written, verbal, or thumbs up to be used as a contact #, and never would of if I thought I would be harassed for it everyday. Sorry, so

Here's what I dug up based on the phone number

Company operates under the names:

Allied Credit Corp.
Capital Recovery Service Inc.
Capitol Recovery Lane
Crs Financial Management

Here's one of their four address:

10340 Democracy Ln Ste 300, Fairfax, VA 22030, Fairfax City County

The BBB has a pretty nice file going on 'em.

Contact your attorney general as well. There are strict laws regarding 3rd party debt collection, and its quite possible that this company violated all of them.

A violation of the FDCPA is not a criminal matter -- it is civil.

State AGs do not often get involved in debt collection matters unless the CA is violating state law regarding licensing or is in someway conducting itself in a criminal manner (fraud, etc.).

A complaint to the Better Business Bureau is a waste of postage. Very few CAs belong to the BBB and the BBB is toothless to force any company to clean up its act. The most they can punish a company is to add the complaint to their file of complaints. Big whoop.

This company is a member of the BBB, I did write a complaint on line about them, like you said, might not do anything, I did call the main office of CRS, the lady that handles operations is suppose to get the tapes of my conversations with this one office of theirs, a slap on the hand my best bet, they took my number off for now, but said it could get back on easy, great, I hate to sue the company when its their employees doing it, thanks for info Guys
