Im being sued..a few questions

4 years ago I hit a woman from behind. I think I was doing like 5 mph..no damage on either cars.

I got summoned that she is sueing me. I'm confused. Why am I being sued as I had the proper insurance. I talked to the insurance company and they said that they will assign a lawyer and represent me.

Ok, again, why am I being named. I thought thats why I had insurance. What happens if I lose and there is a judgment against me, do I pay?

You are being sued because you were the one driving the car. If you lose your insurance will pay the judgement up until your policy limits.
