I recently was caught forging checks at work. What should I do to resolve this, and what will happen next? I am a single mom, and am terrified that I'll go to jail, and lose my daughter. The amounts total approx. $5000.00, and I'm in California.

That's felony theft & you will probably get some jail time. Get an attorney.
