RE: Small Claims Court

I live in washington state. I need to get a lawyer for small claims court since I am disabled and unable to travel to another state to attend. My question is what state should I get the lawyer for?

At the time I lived in Nevada and this jerk who i lent the money to lived in california so Im not sure wich state the lawyer would need to be in.

Also, is it possible for someone to go in my place (to court) since I am unable to travel???

Thanks for any help you can give :)

first off you can't have lawyer represent you in small claims, second, you have to file the claim in the county the company or person works or lives in atleast that is how it is here. but you definitly can't be represented by a lawyer, i think you can petition the courts with a motion to move to county court and then you may have a lawyer represent you but the lawyer has to be in the state you file you claim.

I thought i would post what I was told by an attorney and see what you all think or have any more suggestions. Also if this helps anyone else in the same position as myself.
Its been recommended that I get a justice Court Civil action that might preoceed by a default judgment or summary judgement so not court apprearence would be needed. The winner in a civil court is entitled to all attorney and court fees in adition to the award.
