wisc.

ex took daughter to Florida for vacation, my wife tried to call last night because of her b-day. the paperwork his lawyer supplied us had the hotels address on it ( nothing else) i searched internet and got the phone number. when my wife called she was told there was no one registered by that name in the hotel. it has been specified in their court papers that they both must supply all informoation , (addresses, phone numbers, ect...) in case of emergencies. and aslo so the parents can talk to the kids. anything we can have done? any thoughts?

This is what I'd do. Of course, it's just my opinion, and I can be a real bitch anyaways.

"Hello. I'm calling to see if you have a Joe Blow registered there? No? How about Jane Girlfriend? No? OK, how about Jane Blow? Alright. This IS the Merry Times Motel at 1313 Mockingbird Lane in Anytown, USA, correct? And you're sure no one under those names are there? Becuase this is Tuesday the 15th of June and they told me they'd be there between (suchandsuch) dates. OK, thank you so very much."

Of course, you'd change all the names, town, and the motel name to the correct one when you actually call. (Obviously)

The reason I say this is that maybe the room isn't under his name. Or, it's under HER name. Or, HER first name and HIS last name. That way, you cover all your bases. Then, you verify that you have the correct motel. (Numbers on the net CAN be outdated or transferred.)

WI is a one party state. I don't know where they're vacationing at, or what state it's in. Check that state's recording laws. If it's also a one party state, then record that conversation with the front desk clerk. You have proof you called, you have proof of the DATE of the call, you have proof that they aren't registered there under any name you know of, and you go and file contempt action if you want to.

Oh come on MG....why so much effort.

Call the attorney who sent the paperwork and tell him/her that if the exact location of your child is not delivered to you within one hour you will call the police and file a missing child report.

PERIOD!

HAHA... belize suck short and sweet answers you give..... MG i see and completely agree with both of you. now tell me if i was informed wrong.....

we were informed that we can not tape conversations unless A) either the other party is aware of it, or B) the party in question brought up the subject( we can not ). this was told to us by another lawyer and a police officer.

PS.. for any one in wisconsin, are you all aware that the is no law stating a child can Ever tell the judge were they wish to live.( they don't have any rights until they are 18 yrs old..
hm...... found that out last night.

thanks for the info MG & belize
