Incorrect W2

The W2 I received from my employer does not have my
correct salary for the year. My last paycheck stub shows
what I made for the year, but the W2 has a different amount
in the wages, tips,other comp. box. If I add up all the
taxes that I paid to the number in the box that total comes
to much more than my yearly salary was supposed to be. This
has never happened before and I'm concerned that I will be
sending in the wrong numbers to the IRS and will end up in
trouble over this. Any help would be appreciated.

Look at Box 13 on your W-2. Anything listed there with a letter code? If so, read the back of your W-2 and it will explain what each of those amounts represent. For example, code C is used to designate the cost of employer-provided life insurance over $50,000 (which is considered a taxable benefit). This amount would be included in the Box 1 (wages, tips and other compensation) amount.

If this does not explain the difference, you'll need to speak to someone in the Payroll department. If your employer did make a mistake, they'll have to issue a corrected W-2.
